Statistics

You can visualize catalog statistics using sunbursts or bar graphs. You can also compare the statistics of two areas.

With the sunburst

This page features three dynamic sunburst charts:

By place
By time
By source

Each sunburst has its own dedicated filter and displays the number of maps within each category. Note that a single map can belong to multiple categories; for example, if a map covers an area spanning two countries within the same continent, it will be counted twice for that continent.

With the graphics in bar form

This page features three complementary graphs:

By state of conservation
By subject
By visible feature

Tutorial : Compare two areas (places or countries)

This page presents a tool for comparing areas using statistics. There are two ways to do this:

By country
By location

When you select two areas for comparison, the statistics are calculated based on the attributes of the associated maps.
